Knowledge Transfer Project Fund (KPF)

What is KPF?

KPF is a CUHK funding scheme initiated with the UGC Recurrent Funding for Knowledge Transfer, co-supported by the SIE Fund starting from 2017. The scheme supports professors to initiate social innovation projects exemplifying the translation of academic knowledge into social impact. KPF emphasises partnership with external organisations and direct engagement with local communities, instead of one-way dissemination of knowledge.


Eligibility
Project Leader and Co-Leader(s) must be full-time CUHK staff on professoriate or research academic ranks. Other teaching staff will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
All CUHK staff, students and non-CUHK members may join as team members.


Funding Amount
Up to HK$400,000 for 1-2 years


Assessment Criteria
Creates social impact and immediate benefits to target beneficiaries – 30%
Leverages CUHK expertise and research outputs – 20%
Results in capacity-building for community and project partners – 20%
Will be sustainable after the KPF funding period – 15%
Is innovative – 15%
