Dr LAM Hugh Simon Hung San
The misconception of sleeping is a waste of time is the very opposite established by science. Sleep is a key aid in learning and the biggest beneficiaries for young children in consolidating memories. Lack of sleep will also hinder language development of children which leads to huge differences in children's social, cognitive and academic development laterin life.
In view of COVID-19, the project team will utilize a website for early childhood sleep education and language development to engage as many parents of young children as possible. A personalized interactive support and assessments will be used online to deliver sleep and language education materials and conduct assessments and support.
The project aims to impress upon the general public and parents of young children in particular the importance of childhood sleep and the ways in which sleep can be improved. In addition, the importance of sleep on children language development will be the key focus of this project.
