CUHK Receives 15 Awards at the 7th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
This territory-wide competition received over 600 projects in the Entrepreneurship category and 400 projects in the Innovation category this year, vying to represent Hong Kong at the biennial “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest, the China College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Beijing-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cup. CUHK is proud to have taken home a total of 15 awards. In the Innovation category, CUHK students won 2 first-class awards, 2 second-class awards, 5 third-class awards, and 3 merit awards. In the Entrepreneurship category, CUHK students received 1 third-class award and 2 merit awards.
Students from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering won the Innovation First-class Award under Mathematics and Physics / Mechanics and Control Systems with their project “Miniaturized robotic steerable surgical drill for confined space bone work”, while a team of students from the Department of Anatomical and Cellular Pathology won the Innovation First-class Award in the Life Sciences category with their project “A Novel Neutrophil-based Anticancer Immunotherapy: S3KO-TAN”. PI team Look4kol also won the Entrepreneurship Merit Award under the Startup category.
