Event Highlight | International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME) (12-15 February 2023)
The 13th IIFME –International Invention Fair of the Middle East – was organized from the 12th to 15th of February 2023 by Kuwait Science Club under the Patronage of His Highness, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in collaboration the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), UNESCO, and the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. The thirteen edition of this exhibition brought 34 countries together, including the United Kingdom, USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Thailand, Egypt, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, etc. In this event, 192 inventions were showcased during the exhibition, and many investors and private sector visitors visited the event.
Represented by the China Associations of Inventions, a total of 22 projects were exhibited as part of China. Among these projects, researchers from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) have won 7 awards at this exhibition, including five Gold Medals, one Silver Medals and one Bronze Medals. The awarded projects are examples of the success of CUHK’s knowledge transfer, translating research and innovation into tangible benefits and outcomes.
