Event Highlight | Professor Charles K. Kao Student Creativity Awards (PCKKSCA) – Prize Presentation Ceremony (1 June 2023)
The Prize Presenation Ceremony of the Professor Charles K. Kao Student Creativity Awards (PCKKSCA) 2023 was held on 1 June 2023, in recognition of the exceptional qualities of the innovations by the award-winning students. The ceremony was officiated by Professor SHAM Mai-har, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research) of CUHK, who delivered the opening remarks, followed by Professor Benny ZEE, Director of Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS), who gave a brief report on this year's competition.
The Professor Charles K. Kao Student Creativity Awards (PCKKSCA) is a biennial competition co-organized by The Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services and Center for Entrepreneurship that promotes a culture of innovation amongst all CUHK students, and selects innovative student projects to represent CUHK to join regional, national and international competitions. This year, a total of 58 entries were received, from five different Faculties, namely Business Administration, Engineering, Medicine, Science and Social Science.
A distinguished panel of judges were cordially invited to assess the entries to the competition, chaired by Professor Benny ZEE (Director of ORKTS). Other members of the Judging Panel includes: Professor Edwin CHAN Ho Yin (School of Life Sciences), Professor LEUNG Ho Fung (Department of Computer Science and Engineering), Professor LIAO Wei Hsin (Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering), Professor NGAI To (Department of Chemistry), and Professor Xing Guoliang (Department of Information Engineering).
Following two rounds of keen competition, which were successfully concluded on 15 April 2023, a total of thirteen entries were selected for award on their outstanding innovations. A huge congratulation to all the awardees and their supervisors!
