Event Highlight | Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit 2024 (21-24 November 2024)
The 8th Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2024 was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 21-24 November 2024. GIES is the largest gerontechnology public education event in Hong Kong, which is jointly hosted by the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and co-organised with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. This event provided a platform drawing together stakeholders to engage in dialogue and collaboration for border adoption of gerontech.
This year, GIES featured five themed pavilions focusing on “Age-friendly City”, “Inclusive Tech for Kids”, “Telepractice x Health New Horizon”, “Gerontechnology Testing Ground” and “Care Food Gourmet Plaza”, as well as showcased over 900 products and solutions from 220 local and overseas exhibitors. The expo attracted over 35,000 visitors over four days.
Our CUHK booths showcased five projects which covered various aspects including health monitoring, rehabilitation equipment, mobility assistance device, fall detection technology, and swallowing aid, to facilitate innovative improvements and address the challenges of population ageing in Hong Kong and beyond.
