Principal Patent Attorney
Real & Complex IP Services Limited (HK)

Steven is a Registered Patent Attorney (Australia and New Zealand) and has over 17 years of experience in the Patent industry. He started his career as a Patent Examiner before the joining the Attorney profession as an Associate and then as a Partner in International Patent Firms. In 2021, he established the specialist IP firm, Real & Complex IP to directly serve the innovation and research community of Hong Kong and China.

His is an expert on all Patent and Design related matters and is particularly strong in drafting and prosecuting Patent Applications for inventors. He has an attention detail and a strong understanding of various Engineering and Scientific disciplines, with a particularly strong focus in computing and electrical technologies.

Steven has worked with a broad range of clients ranging from SMEs, Universities, Government Research Labs and International Corporations and has a number of public appointments in social enterprise and entrepreneurship programs in Hong Kong. He is also a Part Time Lecturer with the School of Engineering, CityU, where he teaches a full semester Patent course as well as being a regular visiting lecturer to CUHK where he assists with the delivery of lectures to Post Graduate BME students in IP.
