Research contracts come in a variety of forms according to the type, nature and needs of the subject research activity. In some cases, multiple agreements (for example, a confidentiality agreement plus a research collaboration agreement) may even be required to support a single intended research activity or project.

ORKTS Legal and Compliance Team will duly decide on which kind of research contract is to be adopted for suiting the project needs with an exercise of expertise and judgment on a case-by-case basis in order to enable the research project to flourish.

Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) To set out parties’ respective rights and obligations in the conduct of a collaborative research
Service Agreement To set out parties’ respective rights and obligations in the conduct of research service to be provided by CUHK
Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) To set out parties’ respective rights and obligations in the intended transfer of non-commercialized materials
Loan of Equipment Agreement To set out parties’ respective rights and obligations in relation to the ownership, delivery, care, custody, disposition and return of equipment under loan
Sub-contract Agreement To set out parties’ respective rights and obligations in relation to an individual sub-project under a main project, subject to all applicable terms and conditions contained in the parties’ master agreement
Amendment Agreement To amend the terms and conditions of the parties’ original contract
Supplemental Agreement To supplement the terms and conditions of the parties’ original contract
