RGC Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) 2022/23 Exercise – Preliminary Proposals

The Research Grants Council (RGC) is inviting applications for the captioned Scheme with the following three types of grant:

 (I) Collaborative Research Project Grant;

(II) Collaborative Research Equipment Grant; and

(III) Young Collaborative Research Grant (YCRG) <new>

Internal Deadlines:

•  (I) Project Grant & (II) Equipment Grant - 23:59, 16 February 2022 (Wednesday)
•  (III) Young Collaborative Research Grant - 23:59, 7 February 2022 (Monday) <For internal selection>

Special Features -

Matching Requirement -

1. Project Grant and YCRG
   • 50% (RGC) / 50% (universities) basis for the equipment costs.
2. Equipment Grant
   • 50% (RGC) / 50% (universities) basis for the total project cost.

Institutional Quota (for YCRG only) -

• YCRG applications will be subject to internal selection if the number of applications received exceeds the institutional quota of 5.

• In this connection, kindly note that application materials should reach ORKTS by the internal deadline. Internal selection results will be disseminated around 11 February 2022 (Friday).

1. signed Undertaking form;
2. preliminary proposal:
   For I. Project Grant and II. Equipment Grant
   - submission via the RGC Electronic System https://cerg1.ugc.edu.hk
   * No application submissions can be made via the RGC electronic system after the internal deadline.
   
   For III. YCRG
   - preliminary proposal (template) to <orkts_grants@cuhk.edu.hk>
3. VeriGuide scanning results.
   
   An acknowledgement email would be sent to applicant upon receipt of application materials.

• For proposals falling within the four Strategic Research Areas identified in the CUHK Strategic Plan 2021-2025, applicants are strongly recommended to approach the concerned Area Coordinator for inputs and advice well prior to submission of the applications.
