 Green Tech Fund (GTF) 2025

Nature

The Green Tech Fund (GTF) was established to provide a better and more focused funding support to research and development projects which can help Hong Kong decarbonize and enhance environmental protection. A total of HK$400 million has been allocated to the GTF.

  • Net-zero Electricity Generation
  • Energy Saving and Green Buildings
  • Green Transport
  • Waste Reduction

Funding Ceiling per Project

HK$2.5 million to HK$30 million

Project Duration

Max. 5 years

  • In preparing the project budget, please ensure the required project deliverables such as patent application have enough funding budgeted for the filing and/or maintenance of such arising from the project. Please note that the University will not be obligated to provide funding support for such patent applications.

 

Application Procedure –

  • Applicants please submit the following to Grants Team, ORKTS (orkts_grants@cuhk.edu.hk) by the internal deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.

     a) Completed application form downloaded from the GTF online application system; and
     b) Declaration form endorsed by Head of relevant academic unit via the e-Declaration System (details available here).

* An acknowledgement email would be sent to applicants upon receipt of application materials.

 

Online Briefing Webinar –

  • An online briefing webinar will be conducted to introduce application procedures and priority themes of the GTF. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Details of the webinar are as follows –

 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Language:

 Cantonese (with English subtitles for part of the contents)

  • Interested colleagues please complete the registration form and return to the GTF Secretariat by email (gtf@eeb.gov.hk) by the registration deadline. Successful registrant will receive a confirmation email with webinar login.
