Note:

1. The scheme is open for affiliated members of SZRI <which is under Category A of Designated Mainland Set-ups (DMS)> to apply. Please click here for registration procedures.
2. Applicants please read the NSFC’s Application Guidelines and the application training manual for the specific eligibility and detailed requirements of respective schemes and areas.
3. Please read Guidelines for Conducting Research at SZRI carefully and note the following documents from the NSFC for preparation of application:

4. For eligible colleagues who do not have an NSFC’s ES account, please provide the following information to ORKTS (orkts_grants@cuhk.edu.hk): a) full name in English and in Simplified Chinese (if applicable); b) reporting department and position in CUHK; c) email address in CUHK; d) the courtesy appointment position at SZRI.
5. Staff members whose appointments are not in the categories listed below but would like to apply for the funding as Principal Investigator (PI), special approval should be required. Details are available here. A complete set of documents required for application for that special approval should reach ORKTS by the internal deadline.
   1. Full-time academic staff member of CUHK at Assistant Professor / Research Assistant Professor rank or above; or
   2. Full-time staff member of SZRI at Associate Researcher rank or above.
6. Applicants please submit the following documents to the Grants Team, ORKTS (orkts_grants@cuhk.edu.hk) by the internal deadline:
   
   a) completed proposal (in PDF), which should be a submitted version generated from the NSFC electronic system 科學基金網絡信息系統
   b) signed Undertaking for Research Commitment in DMS (original copy)
   c) signed Undertaking by Department (if applicable) (original copy)
   d) signed Declaration for Research Grant at DMS (original copy)
   e) signed supporting documents for seeking special approval (original copy) <for applicants mentioned in #5 above>
   f)  collaborative agreement(s) (if any) <template can be provided upon request>
