The Chief Executive’s Policy Unit (CEPU) is now inviting applications for the Strategic Public Policy Research Funding Scheme (SPPRFS) for 2025/26. Meanwhile, the Public Policy Research Funding Scheme (PPRFS) is open for applications all year round.

Research Areas

Strategic Themes

  1. Development Opportunities from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)
  2. New Quality Productive Forces
  3. Integrated Development of Education, Technology and Talents
  4. International Financial, Shipping and Trade Centre
  5. Integrated Development of Culture, Sports and Tourism
  6. Elderly and Healthcare Services

The Specified Research Areas of above Strategic Themes are available on the schemes’ webpage (SPPRFS).

Applications must be made under one of the specified strategic themes and be in line with the specified research areas. Those falling outside the specified strategic themes and specified research areas will NOT be considered generally.

II. Other Major Themes and Research Areas

Proposals on Research Areas other than those listed above will also be considered.

Remarks

Application Procedure –

Applicants please submit the following to Grants Team, ORKTS (orkts_grants@cuhk.edu.hk) by the internal deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.

     (a) Completed application form (in MS Word format), which could be downloaded from CEPU website;
     (b) Declaration form endorsed by Head of relevant academic unit via the e-Declaration System; and
     (c) VeriGuide scanning results; and     
     (d) CUHK research safety / ethics approval (if applicable) (in PDF).

An acknowledgement email would be issued to applicants upon receipt of application materials.
